Your first meeting with an independent financial adviser

The format of your first ‘getting to know you’ meeting with us will depend on your needs.

The purchase of a simple financial protection product may be straightforward and could include few questions about health, occupation and lifestyle.

A discussion about financial planning will be a bit more in-depth and could involve building a picture of your income, investments, bills, outgoings and tax liabilities. This will help us build a cash flow model of your current and future life.

We’ll then look at any differences between your current situation and aspirations in order to set achievable financial goals taking into account your age and attitude to investment risk.

The result will be a personal plan derived from our understanding of your needs.

How much does financial advice cost

We’ll offer you an initial no-risk, free, no-obligation meeting where you can discuss your needs. Following this meeting we will develop a personal proposal outlining a solution to your stated needs.

For simple financial products, for example life insurance, we’ll receive a commission payment from the product provider. This will be disclosed, in advance, in the documentation you receive from us and the product provider. We may in certain instances charge a fee, for example, where the commission payment from a mortgage lender does not cover the minimum costs of our advice.

More complex investment advice and pension products are paid for differently based on a percentage fee of the investments arranged with our advice.  The percentage fee can vary based on the complexity of your situation and the advice required.

Regular reviews and continuous communication

Once you are a client, we’ll offer you regular reviews so that you can assess how the financial solutions we have offered you meets your lifestyle, attitude to risk and goals.

Such meetings will also allow us to update you on new financial providers, new financial products or new terms that were not previously available.

Our aim is to develop a long-term relationship to help and support your financial needs at different stages of life and preserve your wealth through generations.

Independent financial advice

As independent financial advisers we are not tied to a specific providers or products and are therefore free to source from the whole of the market to find financial products and services to suit your needs.
